Kakadu Green Season Wildlife and Culture Luxury Tours

December to April 2019

This 'green season', from December to April, we are running a two day one night luxury, private charter tour.

2019 One Day Itinerary  

5.30am Pick up from Darwin accommodation.

6.30am We have a sunrise breakfast at Fogg Dam, where there are large numbers of egrets and other water birds, then we head out to Kakadu National Park 

7.15am Depart Fogg Dam (2.5h, 234km)

9.30am We visit the Nourlangie region, do a circuit walk around Burrunggui rock, where we see Kakadu endemic bird species and ancient Aboriginal rock art.

10.40am Depart Burrunggui (35min, 45km)

11.30am (11.15 at dock) We join the world-famous Yellow Water cruise, and are likely to see Black-necked Stork, all the Egret species, Magpie Geese, Radjah Shelduck, Wandering and Plumed Whistling-ducks, Green Pygmy-goose, Pied Heron, Comb-crested Jacana, Royal Spoonbill, Azure Kingfisher as well as many large Estuarine Crocodiles.

1.15pm Picnic lunch at Cooinda

2.15pm Visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre and gift shop

3.00 Depart Cooinda via Jabiru

4.00pm Brief stop at the South Alligator River on Arnhem Highway

5.30pm Comfort stop at Corroboree Tavern, a unique outback Aussie pub

6.45pm Arrive at Darwin accommodation


Inclusions
 - all touring costs, Kakadu National Park entry fees, breakfast and lunch. Cold water, tea, coffee and snacks are available at any time. Also included is the Yellow Waters cruise at Cooinda. 

Exclusions -  alcoholic drinks, purchases of a personal nature such as souvenirs, internet use etc. 

Cost per person - six people, $425 each; five people, $495 each; four people, $555 each; three people, $645 each; private charter for two $1795

2017 Two Day Itinerary


DAY 1 - DARWIN to KAKADU 

6.00am Pick up from Darwin accommodation

7.00am Sunrise Breakfast at Fogg Dam, where large numbers of egrets and other water birds, in breeding plumage hunt on the dam wall just metres from our vehicle, then we head out to Kakadu National Park

9.00am Kakadu entry, photo stop

9.30 Comfort stop at Aurora Resort, South Alligator River

10.00am Call in to the Mamukala bird hide which has sweeping views across a lush wetland, often teaming with birdlife

12.00pm Lunch at Anbangbang Billabong

1.30pm We visit the Nourlangie region, do a circuit walk where we see Kakadu endemic bird species and ancient Aboriginal rock art

3.45pm Warradjan Cultural Centre

6.30pm Accommodation and Dinner at Cooinda Lodge

DAY 2 - EXPLORE KAKADU

6.20am We join the world famous Yellow Water cruise, and are likely to see Black-necked Stork, all the Egret species, Magpie Geese, Radjah Shelduck, Wandering and Plumed Whistling-ducks, Green Pygmy-goose, Pied Heron, Comb-crested Jacana, Royal Spoonbill, Azure Kingfisher as well as many large Estuarine Crocodiles.

9.00am Buffet breakfast at the Lodge

10.00am Visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre which has a very well presented display of local Aboriginal culture

12.00am Picnic lunch at South Alligator River crossing

2.00pm Comfort stop at Bark Hut, a unique outback aussie pub

4.15pm Howard Springs Nature Reserve

5.30pm Depart for Darwin

6.00pm Arrive at Darwin accommodation
