Diet
Black kites feed primarily on carrion. Often seen along roadways which they patrol for roadkill. They can appear in very large numbers, particularly around fire in savannah woodland, preying on escaping invertebrates, small reptiles and small mammals.
Distribution
Widely distributed in Australia, more common in the north. Also in southern Africa, Europe and Asia.
